The ladies team, led
by Carrie Millson, were strong on Sunday with Helen Briggs and Moira Armstrong
both putting in brave performances for their club.
Rob Snaith and John
Basker were welcome additions to Beverley’s cross-country squad. Julie Russell
and Linda Barnett put in fine performances for the Beverley ladies and, despite
being covered in mud at the end of the race, thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Susie Byass returned
to the cross-country scene after maternity absence and did the team proud with
her sterling race performance. Phil Powditch and Steve Hadley looked great out
on the course and especially enjoyed the challenge of the tough ascents.
The cross-country
season continues until March with all to play for. The team competition is hot
this year as new talent has entered the scene. Beverley’s teams look like
strong contenders for the coveted top spots in the league tables.
